Xeomin
Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA), made by Merz Pharmaceuticals, is approved by the US FDA for the treatment of adults with cervical dystonia or blepharospasm and Moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Xeomin is another neuromodulator to prevent wrinkles to shape or smooth out the lines and wrinkles that already exist ( visible without moving any muscles). The difference between Xeomin and Botox or Dysport is that Xeomin does not have the extra proteins which are produced by the botulinum bacteria and we do not need them to have the aesthetic effect of Xeomin. Those extra proteins might stimulate your immune system to produce antibodies against the toxin. Therefore, you would either need a higher dose to respond the same way or you might not respond to the neuromodulator at all. There is always a risk of developing antibodies against the toxin itself as well but the risk is much lower with Xeomin. Another more pure form of neuromodulator is the Daxxify which lasts a lot longer than Xeomin. All indications, contraindications and side effects are the same as Botox but it spreads a little less than Botox around the injection area.
